Resulting from the geographical location of the town, Szolnok and its surrounding area is ideal for outdoor leisure activities ranging from angling to water, equestrian and cycling tourism or even to small game hunting. In the Tiszaliget embraced by the river a sprawling sports complex and thermal spa is waiting visitors. The water gushing to the surface here has curative effects and is used to treat rheumatic, locomotor and gastric diseases.
The banks of the Tisza River flanked by gallery forests and fine river-sand provide an ideal setting and for lovers of nature and an unforgettable experience of a boat trip, undisturbed angling or a refreshing and cooling swim.
The potentials of the live river are aptly supplemented by the kayak-canoe race track built on a backwater of the river which is suited to the organisation of international competitions and which is the main base of one of the success sports of the town having already produced world and Olympic champions.
